Our commercial software is for sale or resale in the US and most countries outside Europe. We explain why below.
The EU's Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is due to become law in 2024 and allows a three year grace period for compliance.
We believe that it is impossible for a small business such as ours to achieve compliance with the Act.
In view of this we have stopped selling our software into any country which adopts the CRA or a local equivalent. This includes all EU and EEA countries, EU candidate countries, and some others with access to the single market such as Switzerland and the UK (where we are based).
For existing European customers we recommend acquiring any unacquired license keys as soon as possible. We will still provide a replacement license key if a key becomes invalidated or a machine is replaced, as per the license conditions (i.e., at most one replacement per license within one year of purchase).
And if European customers require downloads we will provide a download link on request up to 31/12/2026, so long as they provide an Order ID or 'get key' link so that we can verify the original purchase. Note that we can only provide links to comparepdfcmd 2.3.2 or DiffPDF 6.0.7 since these both predate the CRA legislation.
Naturally, we are very sorry about this.
